Two fo my favorite shows on the Travel Channel are Bizarre Foods w/ Andrew Zimmern and No Reservations w/ Anthony Bourdain. The only complaint I have about either show is that they air 10 re-runs for every first run episode.
On Bizarre Foods, generally I’m thinking, “Yeah, if I were in Thailand. I would eat that!” Then he busts open the durian or the stinky tofu and he can’t even suppress the gag reflex. But I like to think that I have had a wide and varied experience with foods. One doesn’t take the scale on four spins without being willing to experiment.
Which brings me to a meme! Courtesy of my supplier and noted foodie… Chris

Dude…that is a wide and varied experience with food. I can’t even pronounce a lot of the things on that list. I’m not seeing mountain oysters on that list anywhere?
Now, John I am completely impressed on your list of foods half of which I have never heard of and needed to bring out a link to wikipedia, HOWEVER I need to say there was a little unbelief that you have eaten snake but crossed off Horse? Really, it is the new beef. Just joking – you are looking great keep up the good work. Good luck as classes start.
Hi John:
I work with the online community team for Travel Channel and noticed that you mentioned Andrew Zimmern (host of Bizarre Foods) in your post. I thought you might be interested in the new season of Bizarre Foods which premieres next Tuesday, September 9th. Andrew travels to Phuket, Thailand and eats some interesting things!
Please let me know if you would like to be on the weekly updates list for the show. I will be sending sneak peaks and episode information out weekly.
